Khazna and Core42 Partner With Greek Firms to Explore Data Centre and Cloud Infrastructure Opportunities.

Abu Dhabi-based technology company G42 has entered into several agreements with Greek government entities and private businesses to explore opportunities for developing artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and services across Greece.
The agreements were signed on Friday during an official UAE delegation visit to Athens, marking another step towards strengthening technological cooperation between the two nations.
The partnerships will focus on expanding the use of AI in key sectors, including healthcare, education, public administration and smart city development.
G42, together with five of its group companies, will collaborate with Greek organisations to identify potential projects that could help government agencies and businesses adopt advanced AI technologies.
G42 explores development of an AI factory in Greece
As part of the agreements, G42 subsidiaries Khazna Data Centers and Core42 will work with Greece’s Copelouzos Group to assess plans for establishing an AI factory in the country.
The proposed development would bring together high-performance data centre infrastructure, cloud computing services and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The facility is intended to support industries such as banking, telecommunications, maritime transport and government services by providing access to advanced computing resources.
Under the proposed arrangement, Khazna Data Centers would oversee the development of the physical data centre infrastructure, while Core42 would contribute cloud platforms and computing technologies.
Mansoor Al Mansoori, CEO of G42 International, said the agreements represent an opportunity to deepen cooperation between the UAE and Greece in emerging technologies.
He also emphasised that any projects developed under the partnerships would comply with applicable European regulations and technical standards.
AI solutions to enhance urban services
G42 subsidiary Presight will collaborate with Greece’s Ministry of Digital Governance to assess how artificial intelligence can strengthen public safety and improve the management of urban infrastructure.
The initial phase of the partnership will focus on AI-based solutions for waste management and monitoring water distribution networks.
The collaboration will also explore technologies designed to enhance public transport safety and enable authorities to identify and respond more efficiently to challenges affecting cities.
Expanding AI applications in government and education
Inception42 will examine opportunities to introduce AI-powered solutions across Greece’s public administration and education sectors.
The proposed technologies could help government officials track strategic priorities, support cabinet meetings and streamline administrative processes.
The partnership will also consider the development of AI-powered tutoring systems and digital learning platforms to improve educational experiences for students.
Additionally, training initiatives will be explored to equip government employees with the skills needed to use artificial intelligence effectively in their daily responsibilities.
AI partnerships in healthcare and medical research
G42’s healthcare subsidiary M42 has signed an agreement with Athens LifeTech Park to investigate opportunities for collaboration in biotechnology and medical research.
The partnership will explore research initiatives covering cancer, rare genetic disorders, neuroscience and genomics.
The proposed cooperation aims to examine how advanced technologies and scientific expertise could support medical research and healthcare innovation.
The partnership is also expected to open new avenues for UAE-based healthcare start-ups seeking to expand into European markets, while offering Greek and other European businesses opportunities to explore the UAE’s healthcare and technology sectors.
Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group CEO of M42, said the agreement would bring together Abu Dhabi’s strengths in healthcare innovation and advanced technology with Greece’s established scientific and research expertise.
Next steps for the UAE-Greece AI partnerships
G42 clarified that the agreements represent the preliminary stage of cooperation, with participating companies and government entities set to discuss the specific objectives, scope and implementation schedules of the proposed initiatives.
The projects will move forward subject to further agreements between the relevant parties and the required regulatory approvals.
The agreements reflect the expanding economic and technological relationship between the UAE and Greece, particularly in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, healthcare innovation and public sector modernisation.
