iPhone Duo Prices in UAE Start at Dh8,499, with Premium 2TB Variant Priced at Dh13,599.

Dubai: Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, officially goes on sale across the UAE today, Friday, October 23, with a starting price of Dh8,499. The company’s most expensive iPhone to date introduces a foldable display, enhanced multitasking capabilities and a redesigned photography experience.
Following the opening of pre-orders on October 16, customers can now purchase the device through Apple’s retail outlets in the UAE, its official website and the Apple Store app, depending on stock availability.
The iPhone Duo’s standout feature is its innovative folding design. When folded, it functions as a compact smartphone with a 5.4-inch display. Unfolding the device reveals a larger 7.6-inch screen, providing additional space for entertainment, reading, productivity and running multiple applications simultaneously.
However, the advanced design comes at a premium. While the entry-level version costs Dh8,499, the highest-capacity 2TB model is priced at Dh13,599. Despite its premium positioning, the device lacks certain features found in Apple’s Pro lineup, including Face ID and a dedicated telephoto camera.

Customers in the UAE can buy the iPhone Duo through Apple’s official online store, the Apple Store app or authorised physical Apple Store outlets, subject to stock availability.
Apple also provides eligible customers with monthly instalment plans and trade-in benefits when exchanging qualifying older iPhone models.
What Sets the iPhone Duo Apart?
The iPhone Duo’s most distinctive feature is its book-style foldable design, combining the convenience of a compact smartphone with the functionality of a larger display.
When folded, the device features a 5.4-inch OLED screen, comparable to Apple’s discontinued iPhone mini. Opening the phone reveals a 7.6-inch OLED display, offering approximately 50 per cent more viewing space than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, according to Apple.
Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering fluid scrolling and responsive animations. The larger screen also incorporates a nano-texture coating intended to minimise reflections and reduce the visibility of the folding crease.
The dual-screen design allows users to switch between everyday smartphone activities and tasks requiring additional screen space, such as watching videos, reviewing documents or working with multiple applications.
However, the unfolded screen remains smaller than an iPad, and some applications may not yet fully support the foldable layout.
Does the iPhone Duo Support Multitasking?
Yes. One of the device’s key features is its ability to operate two applications simultaneously through Split View.
This functionality allows users to perform several tasks more conveniently, including:
- Reviewing documents while drafting emails.
- Following recipes while preparing shopping lists.
- Browsing websites while recording notes.
- Comparing information between applications without constantly switching screens.
Compatible applications, including Safari, can also display two windows simultaneously. Users can save preferred app combinations for quicker access.
Powered by iOS 27.1, the device includes interface adjustments and multitasking features specifically designed for its foldable display.
However, applications that have not been optimised for the iPhone Duo may not utilise the expanded screen effectively.
What Camera Features Does the iPhone Duo Offer?
The iPhone Duo features a versatile camera system consisting of:
- 48MP main rear camera
- 48MP ultra-wide rear camera
- 12MP outer-display camera
- Under-display FaceTime camera integrated into the larger screen
Its folding mechanism also enables several photography functions.
Duo Preview: Allows subjects to view themselves on the external display while their photograph is being taken, helping them adjust their positioning.
Smart Take: Automatically captures an image when everyone in the frame appears ready, according to Apple.
Kid Cue: Displays animated visuals on the outer screen to attract children’s attention during photography sessions.
The device also allows users to capture selfies using its higher-resolution rear cameras, with the external screen functioning as a live viewfinder.
Despite these capabilities, the iPhone Duo does not include a dedicated telephoto camera. Instead, it provides 2x zoom through cropping from the main camera sensor, which may be a consideration for users who prioritise advanced zoom photography.
The iPhone Duo also misses out on the adjustable aperture available on the iPhone 18 Pro series. Additionally, Apple has not included ProRes or Apple Log video recording in its listed specifications.
For photography enthusiasts, the more affordable iPhone Pro models may therefore be a better choice.
Does the iPhone Duo Support Face ID?
No. Instead of Face ID, Apple has introduced Touch ID integrated into the side button, allowing users to unlock the device using their fingerprint.
The foldable phone also lacks the customisable Action button available on recent Pro models. These omissions reflect some of the design compromises associated with its folding mechanism.
Can the iPhone Duo Stand Without Support?
Yes. Thanks to its foldable construction, the iPhone Duo can remain partially open on a flat surface without requiring an additional stand.
This makes it convenient for hands-free FaceTime conversations, video streaming and viewing cooking instructions.
The device also supports StandBy mode, allowing users to display clocks, photographs and widgets while the phone rests on a surface. Unlike traditional iPhones, the Duo can use this feature without being connected to a charger.
However, certain applications may not be fully compatible with the partially folded position.
For users seeking additional support when the device is completely unfolded, Apple offers a Folio with Kickstand case priced at Dh529.
Is the iPhone Duo Compatible with Apple Pencil?
Apple has confirmed that the iPhone Duo will support the Apple Pencil (USB-C), enabling handwriting, drawing and document annotation.
However, this functionality will not be available immediately at launch. Apple plans to introduce compatibility through a software update later in 2026.
Customers purchasing the device primarily for digital note-taking or sketching will therefore need to wait until the update becomes available.
Battery Life, Performance and Durability
The iPhone Duo runs on Apple’s A20 Pro processor, the same chip powering the iPhone 18 Pro series.
Its folding structure houses two batteries, positioned separately within each half of the device.
According to Apple, the phone delivers up to 24 hours of typical usage. Actual battery performance will vary depending on display brightness, applications and how frequently the larger screen is used.
Despite its dual-display design, the device weighs 254 grams.
Key specifications include:
- Processor: Apple A20 Pro
- Build: Titanium frame
- Water and dust resistance: IP68 rating
- Software: iOS 27.1
- Connectivity: eSIM only
- Display technology: Dual OLED screens with 120Hz refresh rates
As the device does not accommodate a physical SIM card, buyers should confirm that their mobile service provider supports eSIM activation.
How Much Do Accessories and Protection Cost?
The iPhone Duo’s Dh8,499 entry-level price can increase considerably when accessories and protection plans are included.
Apple’s listed options include:
- iPhone Duo Case: Dh319
- Folio with Kickstand: Dh529
- Two-year AppleCare+ coverage: Dh1,349
Purchasing the base 256GB model alongside AppleCare+ increases the total cost to Dh9,848.
Adding the standard Dh319 protective case raises the amount to Dh10,167, while selecting the Dh529 Folio with Kickstand instead brings the total to Dh10,377.
Apple has yet to release a complete UAE repair pricing schedule for the iPhone Duo. Although the inner display’s protective top layer is replaceable, the procedure must be performed by Apple.
Considering the device’s foldable screen and premium price, customers should evaluate protection costs and potential repair expenses before making a purchase.
Is the iPhone Duo Worth the Price?
Whether the iPhone Duo represents good value depends primarily on individual preferences and everyday smartphone usage.
Its main attraction is the flexibility of having a compact smartphone that unfolds into a larger display, reducing the need to carry a separate device for certain tasks.
The expanded screen could particularly benefit users who regularly review documents, stream entertainment, multitask or handle work-related activities on their phones.
Its folding design also introduces useful conveniences for photography, video calling and hands-free viewing.
However, the premium price involves several trade-offs. The absence of Face ID, a dedicated telephoto camera and selected professional video capabilities may make the less expensive iPhone 18 Pro models more appealing to photography-focused buyers.
Those who already use an iPad might also find that the Duo duplicates some of their tablet’s functionality.
For customers whose daily smartphone activities mainly involve calls, messaging, social media and casual photography, a conventional iPhone may remain the more practical and economical option.
