Young Emirati university student killed in fatal collision with tanker.

A 20-year-old Emirati university student from Ras Al Khaimah died after a tanker transporting petroleum products collided with the car in which she was travelling on Al Dhaid Road on Friday.
The student died at the scene, while her female classmate, who was driving, sustained a fracture to one hand.
The two students were returning home from UAE University in Al Ain when the accident occurred. According to the deceased student’s family, the tanker veered into their lane and struck the side of the vehicle where the 20-year-old was seated.
The injured driver was taken to hospital for treatment, where her condition was reported to be stable.
Student had initially planned to travel home by minibus
The deceased student had originally planned to return to her family home in Ras Al Khaimah by minibus, following her usual travel arrangement with four female classmates, her family said.
However, another classmate who had a private car offered to drive the students home instead.
A relative said the 20-year-old agreed to accompany her friend at the driver’s request, so she would not have to make the journey alone.
What began as a thoughtful gesture towards a friend ended in tragedy when the vehicle was involved in the fatal collision on Al Dhaid Road.
Classmates remember her kindness and generosity
Friends and classmates remembered the young Emirati woman as a kind-hearted and generous person who was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Those who had known her since childhood, from her school years through to university, described her as gentle, compassionate and well-liked by her peers.
They said she was known for maintaining good relationships with those around her and had never been involved in disputes or disagreements with fellow students.
Her friends recalled her warm and caring nature, saying her everyday acts of kindness, generosity and compassion had left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Funeral prayers were offered after Friday prayers, following which she was laid to rest at Al Oreibi Cemetery.
