Tourist Praises UAE’s Safety After Dubai Police Recover Lost Handbag.
Dubai: Dubai Police reunited a traveller with her lost handbag, ensuring that all her valuables remained intact and securely stored until she returned to the emirate.
The incident prompted the woman to commend the UAE’s high safety standards and the professionalism of Dubai Police officers.
The handbag, containing cash, a mobile phone and several other valuable personal items, was recovered by the General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Airports.
Officers carried out the required search, investigation and verification procedures before contacting the traveller, who had already departed the UAE.
Dubai Police recover handbag left behind at airport
Expert Brigadier Hamed Al Hashemi, Director of the General Department of Airport Security, explained that the woman had unintentionally left her handbag at Dubai Airport shortly before boarding her flight out of the country.
“The bag contained her smartphone, cash and other valuable belongings. She immediately contacted the relevant authorities at Dubai Airport to report it missing, and we began the necessary search, follow-up and verification procedures,” Al Hashemi said.
Following the report, airport security personnel conducted the necessary checks and successfully located the missing handbag.
The recovered belongings were then secured in accordance with established police procedures.
Dubai Police subsequently contacted the traveller to confirm that her handbag had been found and that its contents were safe.
Officers offered her two options: arranging for the bag to be sent to her destination country or keeping it securely in Dubai until her next visit.
The traveller preferred to collect her belongings personally when she returned to the emirate.
“When she came back, the bag was handed over to her with all of its contents,” Al Hashemi said.
