UAE Weather Alert: More Rain and Strong Winds Expected as Unstable Conditions Continue

Date:

Rain Forecast Through Sunday Across UAE, With Dusty Winds, Fog and Temperatures Climbing to 42°C.

Dubai: Parts of the UAE could experience further rainfall on Wednesday, October 14, as unstable weather conditions persist across the country. Strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50km/h are also expected, potentially causing blowing dust and reduced visibility.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the weather will be generally fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds forming over eastern and southern regions during the afternoon, bringing a possibility of rain.

The unsettled weather is attributed to the extension of a surface low-pressure system, combined with a weak low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.

Winds are forecast to remain light to moderate for much of the day but could strengthen during periods of cloud development. Gusty conditions may stir up dust and sand, affecting horizontal visibility in some areas.

Temperatures across the UAE are forecast to reach 42°C in inland areas, where daytime highs will range between 39°C and 42°C. Coastal regions and islands can expect temperatures between 35°C and 39°C, while mountainous areas will remain comparatively cooler, with readings ranging from 28°C to 36°C.

Humidity levels are expected to rise overnight and into Thursday morning, increasing the likelihood of mist developing across some coastal and inland locations.

Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

More rain expected across UAE until Sunday

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), unsettled weather is likely to continue through the weekend, with chances of rainfall in several parts of the country.

Thursday: Convective clouds are expected to develop over eastern regions before spreading towards some inland and western areas during the afternoon, bringing the possibility of showers. Winds could reach speeds of up to 50km/h, potentially stirring up dust and affecting visibility.

Friday: Eastern parts of the UAE could experience further rainfall as convective clouds form during the day. Wind speeds are expected to ease slightly, with gusts reaching up to 40km/h.

Saturday: Another round of showers is possible, particularly in areas experiencing afternoon cloud development. Winds could reach 40km/h.

Sunday: Rain-bearing clouds are forecast to develop over northern and eastern regions, with showers possible during the afternoon. Wind speeds are expected to remain below or around 40km/h.

Throughout the forecast period, humidity is likely to increase during the night and early morning hours, creating favourable conditions for fog or mist formation in some coastal and inland areas.

Meanwhile, seas are expected to remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman through Sunday.
