Dubai Rental Disputes: How to Settle Issues Quickly and Amicably Without Going to Court

Date:

Dubai Successfully Settles 2,350 Rental Disputes Valued at Dh401 Million in Just Nine Months.

Dubai: Property owners and tenants across Dubai are increasingly choosing amicable settlements to resolve rental disagreements, avoiding lengthy legal proceedings. During the first nine months of 2026, a total of 2,350 rental disputes valued at Dh401 million were settled through conciliation, with cases taking an average of just six days to resolve.

The statistics, published by Dubai’s Rental Disputes Centre (RDC), demonstrate the growing effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution methods in addressing conflicts between landlords and tenants.

From January to September 2026, the centre successfully facilitated 2,350 settlements, enabling both parties to reach mutually agreed solutions while safeguarding their legal rights.

How Dubai’s Amicable Rental Dispute Settlement Process Works

Dubai’s Rental Disputes Centre provides a structured conciliation process that allows landlords and tenants to settle disagreements without immediately pursuing formal court proceedings.

Through the centre’s Conciliation and Settlement Department, both parties are encouraged to discuss their concerns, negotiate possible solutions and reach an agreement acceptable to everyone involved.

This approach aims to resolve disputes efficiently while reducing the need for prolonged litigation.

Once the parties agree on settlement terms, the agreement is submitted to a supervising judge for approval.

Following judicial approval, the settlement becomes legally enforceable, providing both landlords and tenants with certainty regarding their agreed obligations.

Amicable Settlements Strengthen Confidence in Dubai’s Rental Market

Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed, Chairman of the Rental Disputes Centre, highlighted the positive results achieved through the amicable settlement mechanism.

He explained that the centre’s performance during the first nine months of 2026 reflects its ability to resolve rental disagreements promptly while maintaining procedural efficiency and protecting the rights of all parties.

According to the chairman, specialised legal expertise and timely responses to the concerns of landlords and tenants have contributed significantly to the success of the settlement process.

He also emphasised the RDC’s continued commitment to improving its legal procedures, strengthening contractual relationships and increasing public confidence in Dubai’s judicial system.

Why Amicable Settlements Benefit Landlords and Tenants

For property owners and tenants, amicable dispute resolution provides a practical alternative to conventional court proceedings.

By encouraging negotiation and mutual understanding, the process can help both parties resolve disagreements more quickly while avoiding the delays, uncertainty and additional expenses that may arise from prolonged litigation.

The amicable settlement process enables landlords and tenants to reach mutually acceptable solutions through constructive discussions while helping maintain positive contractual relationships whenever possible.

According to Dubai’s Rental Disputes Centre (RDC), this approach also helps minimise the financial and social impact of rental conflicts that might otherwise result in lengthy legal proceedings.

With Dubai’s property rental market continuing to expand, the centre remains committed to strengthening its dispute resolution mechanisms, promoting fair and accessible legal services, and encouraging property owners and tenants to resolve disagreements through negotiation and conciliation rather than prolonged litigation.
