Haaland’s Father Alfie, a Former Manchester City Player, Also Receives Keys to His New Home.

Dubai: Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland has become a property owner in Abu Dhabi after reportedly purchasing a five-bedroom villa for his family at a newly launched Manchester City-branded residential community.
The Norwegian footballer revealed the purchase through a video message presented during the launch of the second phase of Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana, a residential development situated along Yas Canal, close to Yas Island.
Spanning approximately 1.67 million square metres, the project is expected to feature more than 2,000 residential units, offering a variety of housing options, including townhouses, duplex villas and spacious family residences.
Construction is already in progress, with the first phase of property handovers scheduled to begin in 2029.
Haaland’s announcement was made during a launch ceremony held at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena on Monday, October 12. According to the developer, the event welcomed more than 4,000 attendees.
The occasion also marked the appointment of former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as the development’s official brand ambassador.
Guardiola attended the event as the guest of honour, sharing his views on the significance of teamwork, discipline and personal wellbeing, both in professional football and everyday life.
Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, who previously played for Manchester City, was also present at the launch event, where he received the keys to his own residence within the development.
The residential community will incorporate Manchester City’s identity throughout its design, offering a range of sports and lifestyle amenities. Planned facilities include a dedicated park, sports complexes, a football training academy, football pitches, tennis and basketball courts, fitness centres and recreational areas.
The project’s second phase will introduce a selection of residential properties, including two- and three-bedroom townhouses, duplex villas and spacious four- and five-bedroom villas.
Property sales are set to open on October 19, with the developer announcing an average starting reference price of AED 3.75 million for two-bedroom townhouses.
Haaland’s investment further highlights the strengthening relationship between Abu Dhabi and Manchester City, a football club with longstanding ties to the emirate through its ownership structure under City Football Group.
