Both Sons Injured in Attack, With One Requiring Knee Surgery and the Other Losing Three Toes.

Mohammed Yousuf Ali, a 46-year-old IT professional from Hyderabad, reportedly lost his life in an attack attributed to Yemen’s Houthi militia at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Sunday while travelling with his family to perform Umrah.
Ali, who had been employed in Riyadh for the past decade, had welcomed his wife and three children to Saudi Arabia approximately 10 days earlier for the religious pilgrimage.
The family was waiting in the airport lounge for a flight to Medina when the incident occurred.
According to details shared with relatives in Hyderabad, debris from a missile reportedly launched by the Houthis struck Ali, his family members and several other pilgrims at the airport.
Ali sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh confirmed on Sunday evening that an Indian citizen had lost his life in the attack.
Ali’s two sons, 18-year-old Aman Ali and 16-year-old Wasi Ali, were among those injured in the incident. Aman required surgery for a knee injury, while Wasi suffered severe injuries that resulted in the loss of three toes. Both brothers are students in Hyderabad.
Ali’s wife, Sameera, and their 11-year-old daughter, Maryam, who studies in Class 6 at a Hyderabad school, sustained only minor injuries.
As news of Ali’s death reached Hyderabad, grieving relatives, friends and well-wishers gathered at the family’s home in Mehdipatnam to offer their condolences and support.
According to a family member, arrangements were expected to be made for Ali’s final rites to take place in Riyadh.
