Heavy Rain Expected in Mecca, Jazan, Asir and Al Baha as Civil Defence Issues Warning.

Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence has warned that thunderstorms are expected to continue across much of the Kingdom until Saturday, with moderate to heavy rainfall potentially causing flash floods in several regions.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence called on residents to remain cautious, stay in safe areas and avoid valleys and other low-lying locations where floodwaters could collect.
Authorities also warned people not to swim in valleys or areas affected by flooding and urged the public to closely follow safety guidance and weather updates issued through official media and social media platforms.
According to the National Centre for Meteorology, the Makkah region is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by hail and strong downdrafts that could stir up dust and reduce horizontal visibility.
The forecast includes Mecca city, Al Kamil, Al Jumum, Bahrah, Taif, Maysan, Adham and Al Ardiyat. Meanwhile, Al Lith and Al Qunfudhah are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall.
Jazan, Asir and Al Baha are also expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, raising the risk of flash flooding in some locations. The conditions could be accompanied by hail and strong downdrafts capable of stirring up dust and reducing visibility.
Meanwhile, the National Centre for Meteorology forecast light to moderate rainfall across Medina, Hail, Tabuk, Al Jouf and the Northern Borders regions.
Civil Defence once again urged residents and visitors to stay away from valleys, low-lying areas and other locations vulnerable to flooding. The public was also advised to remain cautious and follow official safety instructions throughout the period of unstable weather.
