Dubai: UAE residents can expect fog and mist in some parts of the country this week, along with the possibility of convective clouds forming over eastern areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Temperatures are forecast to climb as high as 42°C.

Monday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with clouds forming over eastern parts of the country during the afternoon.

Humidity levels are forecast to rise overnight and into Tuesday morning, particularly across some coastal and inland areas, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist.

Temperatures could peak at 42°C in inland areas, while coastal regions and islands are expected to see highs ranging from 36°C to 41°C. In the mountains, temperatures are forecast to range between 21°C and 33°C.

On Tuesday, clouds are expected to form over eastern areas and may become convective during the afternoon. Fog or mist could develop over some coastal and inland areas overnight and into Wednesday morning, while winds may reach speeds of up to 35kph.

Wednesday will be fair to partly cloudy, with clouds appearing over eastern parts of the country and a chance of convective cloud formation during the afternoon. Temperatures are also expected to rise. Humid conditions overnight could lead to further fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas on Thursday morning.

Similar conditions are forecast for Thursday and Friday, with generally fair to partly cloudy skies and clouds developing over eastern areas during the afternoon. Humidity will remain high overnight, keeping the possibility of fog or mist over some coastal and inland areas during the early morning hours.

Winds are expected to remain light to moderate throughout the period, occasionally becoming fresh. Sea conditions will generally be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
