Date:

Emirates and flydubai Adjust Operations Following Israel-Bound Flight Incident.

Several international airlines are expected to resume services to Dubai towards the end of October as winter schedules take effect. Other carriers, including Air Canada, United Airlines and Virgin Atlantic, are planning to return in 2027.

Here is the latest UAE flight status and what passengers should know before travelling to the airport.

flydubai suspends Israel flights

flydubai has suspended flights to and from Israel following an incident involving flight FZ1073, which was travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30.

According to the airline, an altercation occurred on the flight deck as the aircraft approached Ben Gurion Airport. Crew members brought the situation under control, and the aircraft was subsequently diverted to Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely.

All passengers and crew were accounted for following the diversion. flydubai dispatched two replacement aircraft to Tabuk to provide assistance.

Investigation under way

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said the security incident had been brought under control.

Some crew members sustained injuries and were taken to hospital in Saudi Arabia for treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

flydubai said the reasons and motives behind the incident had not yet been established and urged the public to avoid speculation while the investigation continues.

Emirates suspends Tel Aviv codeshares

Emirates has suspended its flydubai codeshare services to and from Tel Aviv until further notice following the incident.

The airline said passengers whose final destination is Tel Aviv will not be accepted for travel from their point of origin while the suspension remains in place.

Customers who have already started their journeys will be accommodated and provided with assistance to help them complete their travel.

What passengers need to know

Passengers travelling from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah are advised to confirm their flight status directly with the operating airline before heading to the airport.

  • Check the airline’s official website or mobile app for the latest flight information.
  • Monitor SMS and email notifications for last-minute schedule changes.
  • Allow additional time for check-in and other airport procedures.
  • If a flight is cancelled, contact the airline or travel agent to discuss rebooking or refund options.
  • For codeshare bookings, verify the flight status with the airline actually operating the service.
  • Avoid travelling to the airport for a cancelled flight unless the airline has specifically instructed you to do so.

flydubai advises passengers that its check-in counters close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time unless different instructions are communicated by SMS or email.

Passengers should continue monitoring their flights closely, as airline schedules may be revised at short notice while carriers assess the evolving regional situation.
