Heavy Traffic Hits Major Dubai and Sharjah Routes, Motorists Advised to Expect Delays.
Dubai: Commuters heading to work on Wednesday morning are facing heavy congestion across several major routes in Dubai and Sharjah, with slow-moving traffic and delays reported in key areas.
The usual morning rush between Dubai and Sharjah is building, with traffic crawling along Al Ittihad Road (E11) from Al Nahda and Al Qusais towards Deira. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) is also seeing slow traffic through Sharjah’s industrial areas towards Muwaileh and University City.
Within Sharjah, motorists are facing delays around Al Khan and Al Taawun.
In Dubai, congestion is affecting Airport Road near Al Rashidiya, Tripoli Street near Mirdif and Damascus Street in Al Qusais.
Delays are also building along Al Khail Road (E44) around Ras Al Khor, Meydan and Al Quoz, as well as Dubai–Al Ain Road (E66) near Nad Al Sheba.
Motorists using Hessa Street are experiencing slow traffic near Al Barsha and Dubai Sports City, while congestion is also reported on Umm Suqeim Road near Al Barsha South.
Traffic is building on Sheikh Zayed Road around Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), as well as on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near Jumeirah Village Circle and Arabian Ranches.
However, most sections of Sheikh Zayed Road remain relatively smooth, while Emirates Road (E611) near Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City is also seeing steady traffic flow.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys ahead, allow extra travel time and check live traffic conditions before setting off.
