Fog and mist expected in parts of the UAE as convective clouds form in the east.
Dubai: Parts of the eastern UAE could receive rainfall on Monday and Tuesday, while temperatures are expected to climb to as high as 46°C. Fog and mist are also forecast to affect some areas of the country during the week.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), Monday will be generally fair to partly cloudy. Convective clouds could develop over eastern areas during the afternoon, bringing a possibility of rainfall.
Temperatures in the UAE’s internal areas are expected to range between 41°C and 46°C, with overnight lows of 21°C to 28°C.
Coastal areas and islands are forecast to see maximum temperatures of between 36°C and 41°C, while mountainous regions will remain cooler, with highs ranging from 29°C to 35°C.
Humidity is expected to increase overnight and into Tuesday morning across some coastal areas, raising the possibility of fog or mist. Winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally strengthening, while seas are forecast to stay slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Rain chance continues on Tuesday
Tuesday will bring similar conditions, with generally fair to partly cloudy skies. Convective clouds could develop over eastern areas during the afternoon, bringing another chance of rainfall.
Humidity is forecast to increase overnight and into Wednesday morning across some coastal and internal areas, where fog or mist could form. Southeasterly to northeasterly winds may reach speeds of up to 35km/h.
Fog risk through Thursday
Fair to partly cloudy conditions are expected on Wednesday, with clouds developing over eastern parts of the country. Rising humidity overnight and into Thursday morning could result in fog or mist across some coastal and internal areas.
Conditions in the Sea of Oman will range from slight to moderate, becoming rough at times, while the Arabian Gulf is expected to remain slight.
Thursday will also be fair to partly cloudy, with clouds forming over eastern areas. Some western coastal and internal locations could experience fog or mist overnight and into Friday morning, while winds may reach up to 35km/h.
By Friday, the weather is expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, with clouds appearing over eastern areas. Winds will ease slightly, reaching speeds of up to 30km/h, while seas are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
