Air France initially halted flights to Gulf hubs following the outbreak of the US-Iran war, citing safety concerns in the region.
Air France has announced an extension of its flight suspensions to and from Dubai and Riyadh, saying the decision follows its ongoing, real-time monitoring of developments in the region.
The airline initially suspended services to several Gulf destinations after the US-Iran war broke out earlier this year, citing safety concerns. Since then, the carrier has repeatedly extended the suspensions based on its latest security assessments.
According to an Air France notice, flights to and from Riyadh will remain suspended through September 28, 2026, while services to and from Dubai will remain halted through October 13, 2026.
Air France also announced plans to resume flights to and from Beirut on September 26, 2026, while services to Tel Aviv are “operating as normal.”
The airline said it is contacting affected passengers individually about changes to their travel plans.
“Air France reiterates that the safety and security of its customers and crews are its absolute priority,” the notice said.
Fighting across the Middle East has intensified in recent weeks, with Yemen emerging as another front in the conflict. Houthi attacks on facilities in Saudi Arabia have increased, while disruption in the Bab Al Mandab Strait has affected a key route for Saudi oil exports.
Although the UAE has not faced Iranian attacks in recent weeks, merchant vessels continue to be targeted in strategic waterways across the Arabian Gulf. Meanwhile, Iran and the US remain divided over negotiations and the terms of a potential end to the war.
