Temperatures set to climb on Friday as high humidity raises risk of recurring fog.
Dubai: Temperatures are forecast to climb as high as 45°C in parts of the UAE on Thursday, with even warmer conditions expected on Friday and repeated chances of fog and mist through Monday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Thursday is expected to be generally fair, with partly cloudy conditions at times. Humidity will increase overnight and into Friday morning across some coastal and inland areas, creating the possibility of fog or mist.
Temperatures are forecast to range from 42°C to 45°C across inland areas, while coastal areas and islands will see highs of between 37°C and 42°C. In mountainous regions, temperatures are expected to peak between 29°C and 35°C.
Humidity levels could climb as high as 90 per cent in some coastal and inland areas.
Winds are expected to remain light to moderate, with speeds reaching up to 35km/h across inland and mountainous areas. Conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are forecast to remain slight.
Temperatures to rise on Friday
The NCM expects temperatures to rise slightly on Friday, with generally fair weather and partly cloudy conditions at times.
Humidity is forecast to increase overnight and into Saturday morning, raising the possibility of fog or mist forming over some coastal and inland areas.
Saturday is expected to remain generally fair to partly cloudy, with fog or mist once again possible over some coastal and inland areas overnight and into early Sunday morning. Winds could reach speeds of up to 30km/h.
Weather conditions are expected to shift slightly on Sunday and Monday, with clouds developing over eastern areas and potentially becoming convective during the afternoon. Humid conditions will persist overnight, keeping the possibility of fog or mist over some coastal and inland areas during the early morning hours.
Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea throughout the period.
