UAE employees can file complaints over 11 labour violations with MOHRE

Abu Dhabi: Workers and members of the public in the UAE can report 11 types of labour violations to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), including forced labour, sexual harassment, unpaid end-of-service benefits and excessive working hours.

The ministry said that if a dispute arises between an employer and a domestic worker and an amicable settlement cannot be reached, a labour complaint can be filed through MOHRE’s designated channels, allowing the case to proceed to formal review.

The ministry said reports can be filed for 11 types of labour violations:

  • Fake Emiratisation.
  • Forced labour and human trafficking.
  • Failure to comply with Emiratisation requirements.
  • Sexual harassment.
  • Failure to pay end-of-service benefits.
  • Requiring employees to work more than two additional hours.
  • Violations of heat-stress protection rules.
  • Breaches of labour accommodation requirements.
  • Employing workers in violation of applicable regulations.
  • Violations of occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Failure to grant annual leave, provide payment in lieu or allow unused leave to be carried forward.

MOHRE said its community reporting service allows members of the public to report unlawful practices at establishments, helping strengthen oversight and improve compliance across the labour market.

Complaints can be submitted through the MOHRE UAE app, the ministry’s website or by contacting the Labour Claims and Advisory Centre on 80084.
