The UAE AI Office and Google Gemini are offering university students 12 months of free access to Google AI Plus. The government initiative aims to enhance youth readiness and foster advanced digital skills across the nation.
He emphasized that the next phase demands a shift from passive AI usage to a deeper, more responsible application in research and education. Al Olama added that providing students with advanced tools fosters continuous learning, fuels innovation, and empowers them to actively design an AI-driven future.
The “Google AI Plus” plan equips students with advanced tools for study, research, and content creation through access to the latest Gemini model, source organization features, and 400 GB of storage.
Key features include image/video generation and “Gemini Notebook,” which enables interactive source summaries and audio study content. To ensure responsible adoption, the AI Office and Google will host virtual and in-person training programs, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a global technology hub focused on future-proofing its workforce.
Following high demand for last year’s pilot, the program has expanded to reach more university students across the region. Eligible UAE university students aged 18 and older can sign up for a free 12-month Google AI Plus subscription through December 31, 2026.
This partnership forms part of the “AI for All” initiative launched by the AI Office and Google in 2024, aimed at democratizing access to AI, building critical technical skills, and advancing societal research.
