Kuwait’s national carrier to operate twice-weekly direct flights to popular Thai holiday destination.
Dubai: Kuwait Airways will launch direct flights to Phuket, Thailand, from October 27, expanding its international network with the addition of the popular Southeast Asian holiday destination.
The national carrier will operate two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with bookings for the new route opening on Tuesday, Acting Chief Executive Officer Abdulwahab Al Shatti said, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Al Shatti said the new route is part of Kuwait Airways’ strategy to expand its network and provide passengers with more direct travel options, particularly to destinations witnessing growing demand.
Phuket, Thailand’s largest island, is among Southeast Asia’s most popular tourist destinations, known for its beaches, resorts and natural attractions.
The new direct service is expected to strengthen tourism and travel ties between Kuwait and Thailand, while giving passengers greater convenience by eliminating the need for connecting flights.
Al Shatti said Kuwait Airways would continue to expand its network and add new destinations as part of efforts to strengthen its position in regional and international aviation markets.
He added that the airline is also enhancing its services to respond to changing passenger demand and offer travellers a wider range of travel options.
