Dubai Ruler urges people to think differently and stay focused despite criticism.

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has shared reflections on life and leadership, saying people who think differently and pursue ideas ahead of their time should not be discouraged by criticism.
In a post shared on Friday, Sheikh Mohammed said his experiences had taught him that unconventional thinking and ideas that people may not immediately understand often attract criticism from those with limited perspectives or an inability to envision the future.
“Public service by its nature brings criticism,” Sheikh Mohammed said, urging people to accept it and remain focused on doing what is right. “You have to endure it. Do what is right. Let them talk.”
He added that trying to please everyone can ultimately prevent meaningful action, saying: “If you want everyone to be completely satisfied, say nothing, do nothing and be nothing.”
The remarks continue a theme Sheikh Mohammed has revisited over the years, particularly in reflections shared during the summer under the phrase “Life has taught me”. The messages draw on lessons from his decades of public service and leadership.
Similar summer reflections shared by Sheikh Mohammed over the years have explored themes including teamwork, investing in people, values, national identity and the importance of looking beyond the present.
