Emirates, Etihad named among Middle East’s top three airlines in 2026 Flyers’ Choice Awards

Date:

Emirates takes top spot for premium economy, while Etihad ranks among the region’s most trusted airlines.

Dubai: Emirates has been named the Middle East and Africa’s preferred airline in the 2026 Flyers’ Choice Awards, while Etihad Airways ranked third in the regional standings.

The awards, organised by AirlineRatings.com, are based entirely on votes from travellers and reflect passenger preferences across cabin classes, service, trust and regional airline performance.

Qatar Airways ranked second in the Middle East and Africa category, putting three Gulf carriers at the top of the regional rankings.

Emirates stands out across cabin classes

Emirates also delivered a strong showing across individual categories, taking the top spot for Preferred Premium Economy.

The Dubai-based airline ranked second for Preferred Business Class, behind Qatar Airways, and second for Preferred Economy, with Singapore Airlines taking the top spot.

Passengers also ranked Emirates second for Best Cabin Crew, while Etihad Airways came third in the category.

Etihad ranks among airlines trusted by passengers

Etihad also performed strongly in categories linked to passenger confidence and peace of mind.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier ranked third in the Peace of Mind category, behind Singapore Airlines and Qantas. Emirates followed in fourth place.

Etihad also ranked third for Best Aircraft Livery, behind Vietnam Airlines and Air New Zealand.

Singapore Airlines leads the awards

Singapore Airlines emerged as the most decorated airline in this year’s awards, taking home four titles.

The carrier was named Preferred Economy Airline, Best Cabin Crew Service, Preferred Airline in Central and South East Asia, and the airline offering passengers the greatest Peace of Mind.

Qatar Airways won the Preferred Business Class title, while Emirates took the top spot for Preferred Premium Economy.

In the regional categories, Delta Air Lines retained its position as the leading airline in the US and Canada. British Airways topped the UK and Europe, Qantas led Australia and the Pacific, and Cathay Pacific ranked first in North East Asia.

Unlike AirlineRatings.com’s expert-led airline rankings, the Flyers’ Choice Awards are based entirely on votes from travellers.
