Motorists travelling from Sharjah to Dubai this morning should allow extra time for their journey, particularly during the morning rush. The Sharjah-Dubai corridor is one of the UAE’s busiest commuter routes, and traffic can quickly build up on major roads connecting the two emirates.
E311, or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, is a key route for commuters travelling towards Dubai. Traffic can become particularly heavy during peak hours, while busy junctions and exits may add to journey times.
E611, or Emirates Road, may offer an alternative for some motorists, depending on where they are starting and where they need to go. Recent traffic reports have also pointed to congestion on E11 and E311 during peak hours, while E611 can sometimes provide a smoother route.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has also been carrying out traffic improvements across the emirate. Its 2026 programme includes rapid traffic solutions at several strategic locations, including Emirates Road between Sharjah and Wadi Al Amardi Street, aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing journey times.
