UAE Strongly Rejects Houthi Remarks Against Saudi Arabia

Foreign Ministry Calls for Stronger Enforcement of UN Measures on Yemen and Red Sea Issues.

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned statements issued by the Houthi group targeting Saudi Arabia, including threats to impose a maritime blockade against the Kingdom.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) urged the international community to ensure the full implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 concerning the protection of navigation rights and freedom of movement in the Red Sea.

The Ministry reaffirmed that freedom of navigation through international waterways is a fundamental right protected under international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

It also reiterated the UAE’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all efforts and measures aimed at protecting the Kingdom’s security, stability and territorial integrity.
