Tax Star receives UAE Ministry of Finance pre-approval to operate as e-invoicing service provider

Date:

The approval positions Tax Star among 42 companies pre-approved to support businesses in complying with the UAE’s new e-invoicing requirements.

Tax Star, a UAE-based tax and compliance software provider, has received pre-approved status as an e-invoicing service provider from the UAE Ministry of Finance. The recognition places the company among 42 firms across the country authorised to support businesses in meeting the UAE’s upcoming e-invoicing requirements.

The pre-approved status confirms that Tax Star’s application has been reviewed by the Ministry of Finance and that the company has met the necessary criteria to provide e-invoicing services in the UAE, subject to final approval. As part of the assessment process, Tax Star demonstrated its industry expertise, security measures, insurance coverage, financial stability, data protection standards and business continuity capabilities.

The approval comes as UAE businesses prepare for the mandatory rollout of e-invoicing, which will be introduced in phases. Large businesses with annual revenues of Dh50 million or more must select an e-invoicing provider by October 30, 2026, and begin using the system from January 1, 2027. Smaller businesses will have until March 31, 2027, to choose a provider and until July 1, 2027, to implement e-invoicing, while government entities will follow separate timelines later in 2027. Businesses that fail to meet the deadlines may face penalties of Dh5,000 for each month of delay, making early preparation essential.

Tax Star’s e-invoicing solution was developed with guidance from accounting professionals and is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing finance workflows. The platform automates invoice verification and documentation processes while connecting with widely used accounting systems, including Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Wafeq, Naqood and Odoo. This allows businesses to continue using their current systems while Tax Star manages compliance requirements in the background.

The company also provides a separate Corporate Tax solution, offering businesses a single platform to manage two key UAE compliance obligations.

Rayhan Aleem, Co-Founder and CEO of Tax Star, said the Ministry of Finance’s pre-approval represents a significant milestone for the company and the businesses it serves. He said Tax Star’s e-invoicing solution was developed around the daily needs of accountants and finance teams, using AI to reduce manual processes, integrating with major ERP and accounting platforms, and enabling UAE businesses to exchange compliant e-invoices through the Peppol network.

The approval provides Tax Star with a strong platform for further growth in the UAE. The company plans to expand its customer base, develop partnerships with accounting firms and software providers, and continue enhancing its e-invoicing and Corporate Tax solutions. In the coming period, Tax Star will focus on supporting larger businesses approaching the first compliance deadlines while helping smaller businesses, accounting firms and technology partners prepare for future implementation phases.
