India issues statement after vessels linked to the UAE come under attack in the Strait of Hormuz.

One Indian national killed and 10 injured after two vessels carrying 30 Indians come under attack in the Strait of Hormuz.

India has condemned the attacks on two vessels, MT Al Bahiyah and MT Mombasa, in the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in the death of one Indian seafarer and injuries to 10 others.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the vessels were carrying 30 Indian nationals as part of a combined crew of 46 people.

Of the 12 Indian crew members aboard MT Al Bahiyah, one lost his life and another was injured. On MT Mombasa, nine of the 18 Indian nationals onboard sustained injuries, including two who were reported to be in serious condition.

India’s mission and diplomatic post in the UAE are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with UAE authorities to provide support and assistance to the affected seafarers.

The Ministry of External Affairs said the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi was summoned, and a strong protest was lodged over the attacks.
