Emirates expands A380 services to Delhi and extends Premium Economy offerings to six Indian cities.

Date:

Premium Economy will be introduced across six Indian cities starting in October.

Dubai: Emirates will bring its flagship A380 aircraft to Delhi from October 25, making the Indian capital its third A380 destination in India after Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The double-decker aircraft will operate flights EK512 and EK513 in a four-class configuration, increasing the availability of premium seats on one of Emirates’ busiest routes in India. The upgrade will also allow passengers travelling between Dubai and Delhi to enjoy Premium Economy on all daily services, including the A380-operated EK513 and Boeing 777 flights EK511, EK515, and EK517.

The rollout marks the beginning of a broader India expansion that will extend Emirates’ Premium Economy cabin to six Indian cities from October. The offering will be available on flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Kochi, providing travellers with more choices for leisure, family, and business travel.

“Emirates’ long-standing commitment to India is reflected in the continued introduction of our latest products, designed to enhance the overall travel experience,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer. “We are delighted to introduce our highly anticipated A380 services to Delhi from October, strengthening connectivity through one of our key network gateways. With strong demand for travel to and from India, expanding our A380 presence in the country is a significant milestone, with Delhi joining Mumbai and Bengaluru as our third A380 destination.”

Emirates said the introduction of the A380 on the Delhi route will complement its retrofitted Boeing 777 services, which also feature a four-class cabin configuration with Premium Economy.

The Premium Economy cabin features cream leather seats with additional legroom and greater recline, along with dining served on chinaware and enhanced onboard amenities.

Kolkata to receive A350 service

Kolkata will also receive an aircraft upgrade from October 25, with Emirates’ daily Kolkata–Dubai services EK570 and EK571 transitioning from a Boeing 777 to the airline’s next-generation A350 aircraft.

The A350 will introduce Emirates’ signature cabin products, including Premium Economy, on the Kolkata route. In addition, flights EK572 and EK573, which operate five times a week with a four-class retrofitted Boeing 777, will also feature Premium Economy, making the cabin available on all 12 weekly services between Kolkata and Dubai.

By the end of October, travellers will be able to access Premium Economy on four daily services from Delhi, 12 weekly flights from Kolkata, 22 weekly flights from Mumbai, nine weekly flights from Ahmedabad, seven weekly flights from Bengaluru, and two weekly flights from Kochi.

More India upgrades planned

The aircraft and cabin enhancements are part of Emirates’ broader investment in India, where the airline currently serves nine gateways with 167 weekly flights to Dubai and onward connections to nearly 140 destinations worldwide.

Emirates operates services from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Emirates has also expanded its retail presence in India with the opening of travel stores in Delhi and Mumbai, offering customers personalised assistance with bookings and travel products. The airline plans to open additional stores in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, along with a dedicated call centre in Mumbai.
