Ajman’s Comprehensive Growth Strategy Includes 30 Projects with a Total Investment of Dh1.8bn

Date:

Expanded infrastructure, including new roads, cycling tracks, parks and community areas, to create a better living environment.

Ajman has unveiled a Dh1.8 billion development programme featuring 30 major urban projects to be implemented over the next five years. The initiative will focus on upgrading road networks, expanding green spaces, improving public facilities and enhancing mobility across the emirate.

Launched by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, the AM30x30 agenda supports the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030 by promoting a more liveable, sustainable and family-friendly city.

The projects are organised into five key packages covering road development, infrastructure upgrades, sustainable mobility solutions and public amenities.

Sheikh Ammar said Ajman’s development journey will continue beyond individual projects and achievements, with ongoing investments focused on enhancing quality of life and reinforcing the emirate’s position as an attractive destination to live, work and invest.

Supporting Ajman Vision 2030

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, said the agenda transforms the emirate’s long-term vision into practical initiatives aimed at boosting competitiveness and enhancing residents’ quality of life.

Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi added that the projects were selected based on specialised studies and are designed to achieve a balance between urban expansion and environmental sustainability, helping create a city that can meet the needs of future generations.

Building a better road network

A significant part of the programme is dedicated to upgrading Ajman’s road infrastructure to support population growth, improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion.

The municipality plans to increase new road construction by 43 per cent between 2026 and 2030 compared with the previous five-year period. The cycling network is also set to expand by 33 per cent as part of efforts to promote sustainable mobility.

Package 1: Major roads and Al Zorah upgrades

The first package features six major road projects, with a focus on improving infrastructure in the Al Zorah area.

Key projects include:

  • Redevelopment of Al Zorah Roundabout
  • Upgrade of the Chinese Market Roundabout
  • Phase One of Al Humaidiya Street
  • Completion of Phase Three of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Street
  • Development of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Street
  • Construction of new pedestrian bridges on Rashid bin Abdulaziz Street and Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Street

The package also includes stormwater drainage stations and landscaping projects along key roads and waterfront areas.

Package 2: Better neighbourhood roads

The second package focuses on upgrading internal roads in residential communities to improve access and enhance daily travel.

Road improvements are planned in Al Rashidiya, Al Rawdah, Al Mowaihat, Al Yasmeen, Al Helio, Masfout and Al Manama.

Additional works include a new stormwater drainage station on Sheikh Zayed Street and landscaping improvements along Al Salam Street.

Package 3: Expanding key routes

The third package covers four major projects aimed at strengthening key transport corridors:

  • Phase Two of Al Tallah Street
  • New roads in Al Helio
  • Road construction in the Mohammed bin Zayed residential area
  • Widening and maintenance of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street

Landscaping works will also be carried out along Al Hajin Street.

Package 4: More cycling tracks and walkways

To encourage healthier and more sustainable transport options, Ajman will develop 16 kilometres of new cycling tracks across Ajman City, Masfout and Al Manama.

The package also includes the Al Uqdah Walkway, creating additional outdoor recreational spaces for residents.

Package 5: New parks and green spaces

The final package focuses on expanding Ajman’s green areas through the development of approximately 330,000 square metres of parks and community spaces, creating more recreational areas for residents and families.

New public parks will be developed in Mohammed bin Zayed 2, Masfout, Al Manama, Al Yasmeen, Al Humaidiya 1 and 2, Al Rawdah 1 and 2, and Al Muntazi.

The municipality aims to increase the availability of public recreational space to 4.79 square metres per person by 2030, supporting community well-being and creating more family-friendly destinations across the emirate.
