UAE weather: Humid nights, dusty skies and stronger winds forecast

Date:

Unsettled weather to continue with inland temperatures climbing to 43°C.

Dubai: Fair to partly cloudy skies are expected across the UAE on Wednesday, with cloud cover increasing at times over the eastern and northern regions by night. Humid conditions are also forecast to develop in some coastal areas late at night and into Thursday morning, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM said southwesterly to northwesterly winds will be light to moderate, freshening at times with speeds of up to 40km/h. Blowing dust is expected over western parts of the country during the day.

Temperatures will remain close to the seasonal average, with highs of 40°C in Abu Dhabi and 39°C in Dubai. Inland areas, including Al Ain, Liwa and Ras Al Khaimah, are expected to be the hottest, with temperatures reaching 43°C.

Humidity levels will be highest in coastal and island areas, peaking at 90 per cent in Dalma, while Fujairah and the Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb islands could record humidity of up to 85 per cent.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf will be slight to moderate, turning rough at times in western waters on Wednesday and Thursday as winds strengthen. The Oman Sea is expected to remain slight throughout the forecast period.

The National Centre of Meteorology said the prevailing weather pattern is expected to continue over the next three days, with no significant changes anticipated.

On Thursday, the UAE will see partly cloudy skies, with increased cloud cover at times over the northern and eastern regions. Winds will remain fresh at times, particularly over western coastal waters, with gusts reaching up to 40km/h.

Weather conditions are expected to become slightly calmer on Friday, with partly cloudy skies and intermittent cloud cover over the north and east. Winds will ease somewhat, although they may still reach 35km/h at times.

By Saturday, fair to partly cloudy conditions are forecast across the country. Light to moderate northwesterly winds will prevail, while sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain relatively calm.
