Etihad Refinery begins first phase focused on Euro 5 gasoline production from naphtha.

Dubai: The Government of Fujairah has entered into an agreement to procure gasoline produced by Etihad Refinery, a step aimed at enhancing the emirate’s fuel supply network and ensuring a more secure energy supply chain.
Etihad Refinery, a subsidiary of Etihad Energy Holding, which is listed on the Dubai Financial Market, has established a long-term commercial arrangement for the sale and purchase of gasoline produced at the refinery.
The agreement is expected to contribute to the progress of the Etihad Refinery project while supporting gasoline demand in both domestic and regional markets.
Euro 5 gasoline production
The first phase of the Etihad Refinery project is planned with a design capacity of approximately 15,000 barrels per day, with operations focused on producing Euro 5-grade gasoline.
The refinery will primarily process naphtha to produce Euro 5-compliant gasoline, along with other refined petroleum products.
The agreement also aligns with the UAE’s wider efforts to expand value-added downstream industries, with refining, storage, logistics and transportation playing an increasingly significant role in strengthening the country’s energy value chain.
Fujairah has been strengthening its position as a key hub for petroleum storage, logistics and related energy services, supported by its strategic location outside the Strait of Hormuz and its well-developed energy infrastructure.
The new agreement supports this strategy by connecting refinery production with long-term market demand, providing the project with a stronger commercial foundation as it moves towards operations.
Supply chain focus
Etihad Energy Holding said its focus is on developing and managing strategic assets across the energy value chain, including refining, storage, logistics, maritime transport and related infrastructure.
The Fujairah agreement is expected to enhance the refinery’s long-term viability, reinforce petroleum supply networks and generate value across the emirate’s wider energy ecosystem.
