Abu Dhabi Mobility says autonomous transport is paving the way for safer and more sustainable journeys.

Abu Dhabi recorded 31,075 autonomous vehicle trips in the first half of 2026 as the emirate continues to develop a safer, smarter, and more sustainable transport network.
Abu Dhabi Mobility, the integrated transport centre under the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said the trips were completed between January and June 2026, reflecting ongoing progress in expanding self-driving transport services across the emirate.
The centre said it is working to enable next-generation mobility systems through the deployment of autonomous vehicles and the expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure.
Abu Dhabi Mobility said electric and autonomous transport will play an increasingly important role in transforming mobility across the emirate, helping to reduce emissions, enhance road safety, and provide more convenient travel options.
The centre added that these innovations will support a higher quality of life by delivering cleaner, more efficient, and more accessible transport solutions, while advancing Abu Dhabi’s broader sustainability and smart city goals.
