Rain, dust, and high temperatures are expected to influence weather conditions across the GCC this weekend.

The UAE is expected to experience showers and cooler temperatures, while Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar are likely to see hot weather along with dust conditions.

The GCC is expected to experience contrasting weather conditions this weekend, with the UAE likely to see showers and slightly cooler weather, while Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar face intense heat, dust storms, and rough sea conditions, according to meteorological authorities.

In the UAE, weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective cloud development bringing showers to eastern and southern areas. Light to moderate winds, reaching up to 40 kph, may raise dust in western regions, while the Arabian Gulf is expected to be rough. Inland temperatures are forecast to range between 43°C and 47°C.

From Friday, temperatures are expected to ease slightly as low clouds form along the eastern coast. Humid overnight conditions extending into Saturday morning may result in mist or fog in some coastal and inland areas, with similar weather likely continuing through the weekend. By Monday, fresh north-westerly winds are expected to bring blowing dust to western parts of the country.

In neighbouring Saudi Arabia, authorities say the Kingdom is entering the peak of its summer season, with July typically the hottest month of the year. Data from the National Centre for Meteorology, based on climate records from 1985 to 2025, shows average July temperatures of 33.1°C and daytime highs of 40.3°C, while some areas in the Eastern Province and central regions can exceed 44°C. Cooler conditions are generally limited to the southwestern highlands, including Asir, Al Baha, and Taif.

In Oman, partly cloudy conditions are expected over Dhofar’s coastal and mountainous areas, with chances of light drizzle and isolated rainfall. Afternoon convective cloud formation may trigger thunderstorms over the Al Hajar Mountains, bringing downdraft winds and occasional hail. Dusty conditions are also likely across parts of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, and Al Dakhiliyah, while low clouds and fog may develop overnight over South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta.

In Qatar, conditions are expected to remain hot to very hot throughout the weekend, with light blowing dust and fresh north-westerly winds. Marine authorities have warned of strong winds and high seas, while dust may reduce visibility in exposed areas and create hazardous conditions offshore.

In Kuwait, intense summer heat is forecast to persist, with temperatures rising from around 46°C on Friday to 48°C by Sunday. Coastal areas are likely to become more humid on Saturday, while blowing dust is expected to affect open regions from Sunday into Monday as hot and dry conditions continue across the country.
