Emirates has announced four additional weekly flights between Dubai and Ghana, expanding its existing daily service between the two cities.

Starting Sunday, July 12, the airline will operate four extra flights per week between Dubai International Airport and Kotoka International Airport in Accra.

The new service will complement the current daily operations, which are consistently in high demand throughout the year.

Operating as EK789, the flight will depart Dubai at 3:30am and arrive in Accra at 7:40am local time. The return service will leave Accra at 10:25am and land in Dubai at 10:40pm.

The additional flights will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays and will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

With the launch of flights EK789/EK790 from 12 July, Emirates will increase its Ghana operations to 11 weekly services using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The new flights are timed to provide improved connections from Accra to major business and tourism destinations including Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York JFK, and Jeddah.

They also enhance inbound connectivity to Accra via Dubai International Airport, offering more convenient transit options from cities such as Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles, as well as destinations across Germany and the UK.

Salem Almana said the expansion reflects the airline’s long-standing commitment to Ghana and its growing travel demand. He added that the additional service will strengthen business, tourism, and trade links while supporting the development of Ghana’s aviation sector.

He also noted that passengers connecting through Dubai will have access to nearly 140 destinations worldwide, while international travellers will gain more opportunities to visit Ghana.
