Eid Al Adha 2026: Abu Dhabi Police urge parents to ensure children stay away from fireworks.

Date:

The authority stressed that fireworks and firecrackers pose a serious danger to children, often causing injuries such as burns and, in severe cases, facial deformities.

Abu Dhabi Police on Monday, May 25, urged parents to closely supervise their children during Eid Al Adha and educate them about the dangers of fireworks, warning that even festive celebrations can turn hazardous when safety precautions are ignored.

The police also highlighted that fireworks and firecrackers pose serious risks to children, including burns, eye and hand injuries, and in severe cases, facial deformities. They further warned that such materials can trigger fires and cause property damage, stressing that children must not be allowed to purchase or use them under any circumstances.

Families were also encouraged to guide children toward safer ways of celebrating Eid Al Adha, focusing on enjoyable activities that do not compromise their safety.

The authority also noted that protecting children is not only a parental responsibility but a shared duty of the entire community.

Abu Dhabi Police urged the public to report any illegal sale or trade of fireworks, saying such reports help prevent accidents and ensure safer celebrations for everyone.

The warning came as Dubai Police issued a similar advisory on May 24 ahead of Eid Al Adha, cautioning residents against the use or sale of fireworks during the festive period.

The authority emphasised that fireworks may appear harmless, but can quickly become dangerous, posing risks to individuals, property, and overall public safety.

It also called on community members to comply with the law and avoid any involvement in the trading or use of fireworks in order to maintain public safety.
