Saudi Arabia introduces an AI-powered multilingual robot to assist pilgrims at the two holy mosques.

Date:

The Kingdom has been steadily increasing its use of advanced technologies during Hajj and Umrah.

A smart robot providing religious services and multilingual translation has been deployed at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina as part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to enhance digital religious services and improve the pilgrim experience.

The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques said the robot offers interactive religious guidance along with real-time multilingual translation through a user-friendly digital interface.

The robot also provides information on facilities and locations within the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, answers a range of religious questions, and offers real-time translations for pilgrims from diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds.

Authorities said the initiative is part of wider efforts to use artificial intelligence and smart technologies to enhance religious awareness and outreach services, while supporting the Kingdom’s digital transformation strategy.

The Kingdom has steadily expanded its use of advanced technologies during Hajj and Umrah seasons, including smart applications, crowd management systems, and AI-powered services designed to improve the experience of millions of pilgrims visiting the holy sites each year.

The Presidency said it will continue to deploy modern interactive systems and smart technologies to enhance service quality for worshippers and visitors at Islam’s holiest sites.
