A second cruise ship patient has tested positive for hantavirus, according to a Dutch hospital.

A second case of hantavirus has been confirmed aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship, amid an ongoing outbreak investigation.

A patient from the MV Hondius cruise ship, which is dealing with a hantavirus outbreak, has tested positive for the disease, the Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands confirmed on Thursday.

The hospital said the patient had been informed and consented to the release of the information. Earlier the same day, Radboud University Medical Centre also reported that a cruise ship patient under its care had tested positive for hantavirus.
