DUBAI: Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority (CDA), hosted Bishop Paolo Martinelli at the Authority’s headquarters in Dubai.

During the meeting, Bishop Martinelli conveyed his greetings and appreciation to the UAE’s leadership and people, praising the precautionary measures introduced to regulate places of worship. He noted that these measures reflect the leadership’s commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of citizens and residents in all circumstances.

Bishop Paolo Martinelli affirmed that the UAE’s balanced approach — which harmonises public health protection with the preservation of religious practices — represents a global model for managing religious and cultural diversity.

He added that this approach reflects the country’s deeply rooted values of openness, tolerance and pluralism.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid said the visit reflects the strong partnerships between the Community Development Authority (CDA) and various religious institutions, underscoring the Authority’s commitment to fostering a cohesive community built on mutual respect and understanding. She noted that this aligns with the UAE leadership’s vision of a comprehensive development model that places people at the centre of its priorities.

She added that the CDA remains committed to strengthening social cohesion and enhancing quality of life for all members of society by developing integrated frameworks and services tailored to the needs of Dubai’s diverse community, further reinforcing the values of coexistence and inclusion.

She added that these efforts align with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and reinforce the values of coexistence, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a global city that welcomes all within a safe and stable environment.

The Community Development Authority (CDA) plays a key role in developing and activating Dubai’s social ecosystem by empowering individuals and families, while enhancing partnerships with government, community and religious entities.
