The initiative is designed to enhance productivity and modernise public sector operations.

Dubai has launched a new initiative to train 50,000 government employees in artificial intelligence, as part of efforts to modernise public services and enhance efficiency.
The programme, known as the AI Workforce Transformation Programme (AI+), is being led by Digital Dubai in collaboration with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence under the Dubai Future Foundation.
Officials said the initiative aims to prepare government employees for a future in which AI plays a central role in decision-making, service delivery, and day-to-day operations.
Focus on smarter, faster services
The programme is designed to equip employees with practical AI skills that can be applied in daily work, helping improve productivity and enhance service quality.
It will provide tailored training based on job roles, from senior leadership to frontline staff, with the aim of embedding AI into government operations as a practical tool rather than a purely technical concept.
Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, said the initiative reflects a shift in how government employees engage with technology.
He said staff are no longer just users of digital systems but are becoming active contributors in designing smarter, more responsive services that meet people’s needs.
He added that the programme supports Dubai’s broader economic vision and strengthens its position as a global leader in digital transformation.
Building skills across all levels of government
Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, said that investing in people remains central to Dubai’s development strategy.
He said the programme is designed to equip employees with practical, future-ready skills that enhance efficiency, support innovation, and promote continuous learning across government departments.
Khalfan Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Future Foundation, said the initiative represents an important step in expanding the use of artificial intelligence across government entities.
He said the focus is not only on technology but also on building strong human capabilities that can translate AI into practical, real-world solutions that improve services and customer experience.
Training tailored to different roles
The programme is structured into multiple learning tracks based on job responsibilities.
Senior leaders will participate in sessions and discussions focused on AI strategy, global best practices, and adoption challenges.
Chief AI Officers will focus on implementing Dubai’s AI policies through workshops and case studies.
Product and service owners will be trained on converting ideas into practical AI solutions and evaluating their impact.
Managers will be trained on how to integrate AI into team operations, improve workflows, and identify opportunities for automation.
Employees across government departments will receive practical, hands-on training in tools such as AI-powered productivity systems, automation, and prompt engineering.
Strengthening Dubai’s digital future
Officials said the programme is expected to enhance digital skills across government departments, accelerate service delivery, and support long-term innovation.
It is also viewed as part of Dubai’s broader push to build a technology-driven government that relies on data, efficiency, and smart systems to better serve residents.
