UAE extends fast-track degree recognition to 38 universities.

Date:

Graduates receive automatic recognition as five additional universities join the programme.

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has added five more universities to its automatic recognition scheme for domestic higher education qualifications, increasing the total number of participating institutions to 38 in a move aimed at streamlining procedures and reducing bureaucracy.

Under the initiative, graduates from participating universities have their degrees automatically recognised upon graduation, without the need to submit a separate application.

The process is facilitated through direct, real-time digital integration between the universities and the Ministry, cutting administrative steps and enhancing the efficiency of services within the UAE’s higher education system, Emarat Al Youm reported.

The expansion builds on the success of the proactive service since its launch, with plans to gradually include more institutions. The initiative aims to help graduates pursue postgraduate studies or enter the labour market faster by eliminating additional qualification recognition requirements.

It also assists graduates in meeting academic and professional standards while enhancing their readiness for the next stage of their education or career. The programme is part of a broader framework focused on digital transformation and institutional integration.

Under the system, qualifications issued by licensed institutions offering accredited programmes are automatically recognised. A digital verification mechanism, accessible via an approved QR code, confirms official recognition in accordance with national regulations.

The Ministry stated that the programme is part of a broader suite of digital services designed to simplify qualification recognition procedures and minimize human intervention.

These services include digital verification and the issuance of electronic copies of recognition reports for qualifications obtained abroad, ensuring data accuracy and ease of access for relevant authorities.
