UAE private schools adopt virtual interviews and online assessments to simplify admissions.

Dubai: Private schools across the UAE have confirmed that enrolment for the next academic year is now fully digital, enabling parents to complete applications, assessments, and seat reservations entirely online.
Administrators explained that registration is handled via official school websites, where parents can submit student information through dedicated portals. Younger children are then scheduled for online interview dates, while students applying to higher grades undergo digital placement tests.
Once accepted, parents can pay seat reservation fees electronically, with the amount later deducted from tuition fees.
According to Emarat Al Youm, officials at several private schools confirmed that applications are being processed without disruption. Virtual school tours are also available, allowing families to explore facilities such as sports fields, swimming pools, clinics, computer labs, art rooms, and science laboratories, alongside academic and extracurricular programs.
Officials explained that kindergarten applicants typically undergo remote interviews via platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom, while students applying to Grades 1–12 must pass online placement assessments before admission is confirmed.
Schools noted that remote assessments follow strict protocols, including time limits and requirements for students to keep cameras and microphones on during testing. Successful applicants receive acceptance notifications, enabling parents to pay seat reservation fees, subject to compliance with admission standards set by education authorities, including grade-specific age requirements.
Registration officials also highlighted the introduction of direct communication channels via school websites to assist parents and answer enquiries. The admission process typically has two stages:
- Initial data submission and appointment booking.
- Remote interviews for kindergarten applicants, conducted in the presence of parents, whose role is limited to supporting the child without direct intervention.
For higher grades, the process includes academic testing as well as evaluation of personal attributes relevant to the student’s development and readiness.
Electronic registration forms also require parents to confirm the accuracy and completeness of the information submitted and to authorize schools to request academic records, references, and evaluation reports from previous institutions to verify applications.
Schools cautioned that withholding information, particularly regarding special educational needs, could result in delays, rejection of applications, or cancellation of admission if discovered after enrolment. They emphasized that submission of an application does not guarantee admission, which remains subject to seat availability, successful assessment results, and completion of all required documentation and payments.
