UAE rains: Abu Dhabi Police advise motorists to avoid parking under bridges and inside tunnels.

Date:

Safety risks increase during rain due to reduced visibility and a higher likelihood of skidding.

The UAE experienced a brief spell of rainy weather starting Tuesday, March 31, expected to continue until Wednesday, April 1, 2026. As the rain began, Abu Dhabi Police took to X to advise drivers against parking under bridges and in tunnels.

The authority warned that parking in these areas can cause traffic congestion and raise the risk of accidents, which are already more likely in wet and unstable weather conditions.

The compact spaces under bridges and inside tunnels leave little margin for error. During rain, safety risks increase as visibility decreases and the likelihood of skidding rises.

Police advised that vehicles should be parked in safe locations to protect other motorists. They also stressed maintaining a safe distance, reducing speed, and avoiding distractions while driving.

Another key precaution, especially during heavy rain, is to avoid areas prone to water accumulation or low-lying zones that may experience sudden water flow, including valleys and mountainous regions.
