UAE Flight Updates: Partial Services Resume for Etihad, Emirates, flydubai, and Air Arabia; Several Scheduled Flights Cancelled

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the gradual resumption of flight operations across UAE airports to assist passengers affected by recent regional disruptions.

Travellers are advised not to travel to airports unless directly contacted by their airline with confirmed flight details, in order to avoid congestion and ensure smooth processing.

Dubai Airports Update

Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) resumed limited operations on 2 March.

Dubai Airports
Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) resumed limited operations on 2 March. Emirates and flydubai are operating select flights, prioritising passengers with earlier bookings. Affected passengers rebooked onto these flights will be contacted directly by their airline.

Abu Dhabi Airport
Zayed International Airport (AUH) has partially resumed operations, but all Etihad Airways scheduled flights remain suspended until 2:00 pm UAE time on Wednesday, March 4.

Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport unless contacted directly by the airline. Guests should check flight status at etihad.com, ensure their contact details are up to date, and use rebooking or refund options if needed.

Tickets issued on or before 28 February 2026 for travel up to 7 March may be rebooked free of charge on Etihad-operated flights until 18 March. Refund requests can be submitted online or through travel agents.

Sharjah Airport
The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has announced a limited resumption of flights from tonight at Sharjah International Airport. Passengers are urged to confirm departure times with their airlines, as operations will follow a defined schedule. Safety and smooth service remain top priorities.

Airline: Air Arabia
Air Arabia has temporarily suspended all flights to and from the UAE until 3:00 pm UAE time on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with flights to Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq suspended until 5 March due to ongoing regional disruptions. Limited flights may operate subject to operational and safety approvals. Affected passengers will be contacted directly.

Passengers not on operating flights are advised not to travel to the airport unless contacted. Check flight status and updates on the Air Arabia website. Those departing within 24 hours will be informed regarding rebooking options.

Authorities emphasise that all operations will continue only once safety standards are fully met. Travellers are urged to check flight status online and follow official channels for live updates.

Indian Airlines Launch Relief Flights from the Middle East

Indian carriers have launched special flights to bring passengers stranded in the Middle East back to India.

  • IndiGo will operate 10 flights from Jeddah to India on Tuesday.
  • SpiceJet will operate four special flights from Fujairah to Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi, including two to Mumbai.
  • SpiceJet will also resume scheduled flights between Fujairah and Delhi/Mumbai from 4 March, helping restore regular connectivity.

On Monday, approximately 357 flights were cancelled, but operations gradually resumed by evening. The Indian government is coordinating with airlines, airports, regulatory authorities, and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to ensure the safe restoration of services, including deploying extra capacity for stranded passengers.
