The authority said the decision followed a comprehensive assessment of security and operational risks and was made in full coordination with relevant national and international authorities. It emphasized that airspace safety and the protection of the UAE’s sovereignty remain top priorities.
The GCAA confirmed it will continue to update relevant authorities and the public on any developments.
Passengers were urged to contact their airlines for the latest flight information, with accommodation and necessary assistance to be provided in coordination with local authorities where needed.
