UAE fuel prices for March announced: Will petrol and diesel become more expensive now?

Date:

Oil prices surge amid Gulf tensions, raising concerns over March fuel costs for UAE motorists.

Dubai: Petrol and diesel prices for March in the United Arab Emirates are set to be announced today. Fuel rates declined again in February, but a recent surge in global oil prices — driven by renewed Iran-US tensions — has increased the likelihood of changes at the pump next month.

Where UAE pump prices stand now

The UAE Fuel Price Committee set February 2026 rates at Dh2.45 for Super 98, Dh2.33 for Special 95, Dh2.26 for E-Plus 91, and Dh2.52 for diesel.

In January 2026, prices were higher: Super 98 cost Dh2.53, Special 95 Dh2.42, E-Plus 91 Dh2.34, and diesel Dh2.55 per litre.

Motorists have therefore seen two consecutive months of price cuts since December.

Fuel prices in the United Arab Emirates are reviewed monthly and are linked to the average global oil prices and refined fuel costs from the previous month. When oil prices rise, pump rates typically increase; when oil prices fall, motorists usually get relief at the pump.

Historical data shows fuel prices rose steadily through mid-2025, peaked around October, eased in December, and then dropped sharply in January.

Over the past year, motorists in the United Arab Emirates have experienced multiple price increases and reductions, highlighting how quickly fluctuations in global oil markets can be reflected at the pump.

What does that mean for you?

If tensions ease and oil prices retreat, changes in March could remain limited. However, if the risk premium persists during the pricing window, a modest increase becomes more likely — particularly for diesel, which tends to respond faster when global supply routes appear at risk.

What this means for motorists in the United Arab Emirates

  • March pump prices could edge higher after two straight months of declines.
  • A sharp spike still appears unlikely unless Gulf tensions intensify enough to keep oil trading near recent highs.
  • The official March rates will be confirmed today when the new price list is issued.

This outlook is based on current market trends and reported developments. Petrol and diesel prices in the UAE are set by the UAE Fuel Price Committee and may differ if global oil markets shift before the official announcement.
