Dubai Silicon Oasis to get ticketless on-street parking with Salik integration

Dubai: On-street parking across Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) will soon transition to a ticketless system that integrates directly with Salik accounts for automatic billing.

Managed by PARKONIC, the new system introduces a tiered pricing structure that varies by time of day, representing a significant change for motorists and residents in the area.

Tiered hourly rates
Under the new system, parking fees in Dubai Silicon Oasis will follow a tiered schedule aimed at managing demand. Rates start at Dh4 per hour between 8am and 4pm, rise to Dh6 per hour during the peak evening window of 4pm to 8pm, and then revert to Dh4 per hour until midnight.

Applicable days
The parking fees will apply from Monday to Saturday, while parking remains free on Sundays and public holidays.

A cashless, ticketless system
Breaking from traditional street parking setups, the DSO zone will have no physical parking machines, cash payment points, or QR codes. The system operates entirely through digital records linked to each vehicle’s licence plate, ensuring a seamless, automatic billing experience.

Dubai Silicon Oasis rolls out ticketless, Salik-linked on-street parking

Dubai: On-street parking across Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) will soon operate under a ticketless system managed by PARKONIC, integrating directly with Salik accounts for automatic billing. The new system introduces tiered hourly rates and eliminates physical machines, cash points, or QR codes, relying entirely on digital records linked to each vehicle’s licence plate.

Tiered hourly rates
Parking charges are structured to manage demand: Dh4 per hour from 8am to 4pm, rising to Dh6 per hour during the peak evening window of 4pm to 8pm, and returning to Dh4 per hour until midnight. Fees will apply from Monday to Saturday, with parking free on Sundays and public holidays.

Payment options
Motorists can settle fees in two main ways:

  • SMS parking: Drivers send a message to the number displayed on local signage to start a session.
  • Automatic Salik deduction: If no SMS session is initiated, the system will automatically deduct fees from the vehicle’s Salik account upon exit.

According to PARKONIC, the default payment method is the Salik account, unless SMS payment is successfully initiated. Salik transactions remain subject to standard terms and conditions at www.salik.ae.

Compliance and exemptions
Fees apply to all vehicles, including those registered to People of Determination (POD). Drivers without a Salik account or with insufficient balance are advised to use the SMS option to avoid enforcement, which may include fines or blacklisting by Dubai authorities.

The activation date for the new system is yet to be confirmed. Residents are advised to monitor official PARKONIC channels for updates.
