The competition provided students with a platform to transform their learning into practical, real-world solutions.

The 2026 SABIS STEAM Competition brought together the largest cohort of young innovators in the SABIS Network, turning a regular weekend into a dynamic celebration of creativity and future-ready skills. The event saw record participation, hosting over 500 students from 21 schools across 9 countries, all driven by a shared enthusiasm for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

Originally launched as a robotics-only contest in 2022, the competition has since grown into a global STEAM showcase, expanding in scale, disciplines, and ambition each year. This edition featured seven engaging categories, including robotics, drones, electric cars, 3D printing, electronics, and an academic component linking practical performance with conceptual learning.

From the moment the arenas opened, excitement filled the air. Robots weaved through intricate courses with precision, drones performed complex maneuvers, circuits came to life, and 3D printers hummed steadily as creations emerged layer by layer. Students worked together under pressure, transforming challenges into solutions in real time.

Beyond the thrill of competition, the event showcased something far more significant: the emergence of Generation Innovate—a generation of students not only armed with knowledge but also equipped with the mindset to drive meaningful change. Throughout the day, participants displayed teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, communication, and resilience—skills deliberately cultivated through SABIS’s STEAM courses and year-round exploratory learning programs.

As SABIS leadership emphasized at the opening ceremony, “You are not waiting for the future; you are shaping it. That is what ‘Generation Innovate’ truly means.”

This year’s competition provided students with a stage to showcase their talents, celebrate curiosity, and apply classroom learning to real-world challenges. It underscores SABIS’s longstanding commitment to integrating STEAM education into daily learning, equipping students not just to navigate the future, but to actively shape it.
