Drivers Take Note: Dubai Adjusts Paid Parking Hours for Ramadan

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced changes to paid public parking hours during Ramadan.

In a statement on Monday, February 17, the RTA confirmed that parking charges will now be applied in two shifts:

  • First period: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Second period: 8:00 pm to midnight

This means there will be a two-hour window between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm when paid parking will not be in effect.

Multi-storey parking facilities will remain open and operational all day, every day throughout Ramadan.

The next crescent moon sighting will mark the start of Ramadan, with the UAE Moon Sighting Committee urging the public to observe the sky on Tuesday, February 17.

Astronomers have noted that spotting the crescent after Maghrib on Tuesday evening will likely be “impossible,” suggesting that Ramadan will most likely begin on Thursday, February 19.

The new paid parking hours will take effect once Ramadan is officially announced in the UAE.

The RTA also confirmed public transport schedules across the city. The Dubai Metro’s Red and Green lines will maintain their usual operating hours.

The Dubai Tram will continue its standard schedule, running from 6:00 am to 1:00 am Monday to Saturday, and from 9:00 am to 1:00 am on Sundays.

Ramadan, expected to conclude on Thursday, March 19, 2026, will bring a range of timing and service adjustments across Dubai.
