Dubai Announces Official School Timings for Ramadan 2026

Dubai: The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has confirmed the official school timings for private schools in Dubai during Ramadan 2026.

According to the KHDA’s announcement on Tuesday, February 10, the school day should not exceed five hours and should take into account parents’ preferences regarding start and end times. Students who are fasting are exempt from participating in physical education classes. On Fridays, schools are advised to finish by 11:30 a.m. to allow students and staff to perform Friday prayers. Parents are encouraged to confirm the exact timings for their child’s class directly with their school.

In a post on X, the KHDA stated:

“As we remain committed to providing a balanced learning environment during the Holy Month, here are the guidelines for private school attendance in Dubai, ensuring a learning experience that aligns with the spirit of Ramadan and enhances the quality of education.”

Predicted Start of Ramadan 2026
The International Astronomy Centre has noted that the crescent moon will likely not be visible on Tuesday, February 17, the 29th day of Shaban. If the moon is not sighted, Ramadan is expected to begin on Thursday, February 19, though slight variations may occur depending on local moon-sighting observations.
