Transavia Extends Dubai Flight Cancellations Amid Geopolitical Concerns

Dubai/Amsterdam: Dutch low-cost carrier Transavia, a subsidiary of KLM and part of the Air France-KLM Group, has announced further cancellations of its flights to and from Dubai International Airport.
All flights on the Dubai route have now been suspended until Friday, February 13, following an initial announcement that had hoped to resume services on February 11. The airline cited the current geopolitical situation in the Gulf region as the reason for the extended cancellations, emphasizing that the safety of passengers and crew is its top priority.
Transavia operates its main hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, with additional hubs across the Netherlands and three bases in France. Passengers affected by the cancellations are being contacted via SMS and email and can choose between a full refund, rebooking for another date, or switching to another destination within 14 days.
The move follows similar precautionary cancellations by other major European carriers. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines temporarily halted flights to Dubai at the end of January but has since resumed daytime services. Air France also briefly suspended flights to DXB, resuming operations on January 24. Meanwhile, Emirates recently cancelled several U.S. flights due to Storm Fern.
