These acquisitions, made in partnership with Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, mark a significant milestone in American Hospital Dubai’s ongoing strategic collaboration with Siemens Healthineers, a global leader in medical technology and imaging.
Hybrid Cath Lab: Redefining Cardiac and Surgical Care
The Hybrid Cath Lab seamlessly integrates the capabilities of a cardiac catheterisation laboratory with the environment and equipment of a surgical operating room. Catheterisation procedures, which involve minimally invasive tests and treatments for cardiovascular diseases, can now be followed immediately by surgical interventions—all on a single table within the same room.
At the heart of the system is a sliding CT scanner, which moves along floor rails to the patient, enabling clinicians to switch between detailed 3D imaging and real-time intervention without transferring the patient to another room. This integration results in faster clinical decisions, enhanced accuracy, improved patient safety, and quicker recovery.
The Hybrid Cath Lab supports a wide range of clinical applications, including interventional radiology, cardiac and vascular interventions, neurosurgical procedures, and complex hybrid surgeries. This acquisition reaffirms American Hospital Dubai’s commitment to introducing cutting-edge medical technology in the region.
Advancing Cancer Care with Varian TrueBeam
American Hospital Dubai has also strengthened its oncology capabilities with the deployment of two high-energy Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, featuring advanced radiotherapy technologies such as Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT), RapidArc® treatment delivery, HyperSight imaging, and the Eclipse Treatment Planning System (TPS).
These systems deliver precise, efficient, and personalized radiation therapy, complemented by comprehensive brachytherapy treatment options for a wide range of cancer types, further enhancing the hospital’s mission to provide precision-driven, minimally invasive care.
