UAE: Two Asians died & 11 injured in Abu Dhabi road accident

The preliminary investigations showed that the accident was caused by a sudden deviation resulting from excessive speed and not leaving a sufficient distance between vehicles.

Abu Dhabi: Two Asians have died and 11 others were injured in a traffic accident involving a bus and vehicle in the Ramah area on the Abu Dhabi road towards Al Ain, Abu Dhabi Police confirmed.

Lt. Col. Saif Naif Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Traffic Department in Al Ain, said that the preliminary investigations showed that the accident was caused by a sudden deviation resulting from being preoccupied with other than the road in addition to excessive speed and not leaving a sufficient safety distance between vehicles.

The Command and Control Center of the Operations Department received a report about the accident today, where police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense patrols, as well as ambulances, rushed to the scene to rescue the injured. They were transferred to Tawam Hospital and Shakhbout Medical City.

The Director of the Traffic Department in Al Ain urged drivers and road users to abide by the traffic law, warning against the dangers of sudden deviation that can cause horrific accidents.

He called on drivers to pay attention and focus while driving and to use traffic lights and mirrors when changing lanes to make sure there is space to move to the other lane.
