Spanning three labour zones, the Dubai 7×7 initiative will feature seven sports across seven days.

The winners of the sixth edition of the Taqdeer Award were honoured during a special ceremony on Monday, February 16. Launched in 2016 to recognise exemplary workplaces and workers in the construction sector, the award has now been expanded to include the food and beverage, hospitality, and transport sectors.
During the event, officials also announced a sports initiative for labour zones, set to commence on Eid Al Fitr.

The Dubai 7×7 initiative, organised jointly by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council, will feature seven sports over seven consecutive days across three labour zones. The programme is expected to engage over 20,000 workers across the emirate.

The programme is set to begin on the first day of Eid Al Fitr and will conclude with a running race along with final events for each of the featured sports. This initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to enhancing the physical and mental wellbeing of workers and improving overall quality of life.
Winners of the Taqdeer Awards
During the awards ceremony, Bayer Middle East FZE received the 7-star classification, while Airbus Africa & Middle East was awarded 6 stars. Winners in the 5-star category included Petronash FZE, Dulsco Group, Crown Emirates Company LTD., Aries Marine and Engg. Services LCC, SD – Middle East LLC, and Nestlé Dubai Manufacturing.
Companies across sectors such as real estate, manufacturing, professional services, and other key industries also received sub-category awards. Over the years, the Taqdeer Award has inspired organisations across Dubai’s economy to enhance workplace environments, boost productivity, and safeguard employee rights.
Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor highlighted that, over the past decade, the Award has been an effective institutional development tool, driving measurable improvements in performance. To date, the Award has seen 15,677 participants, with 165 companies honoured, and overall participation has increased by 23% across various editions.
The Taqdeer Award aims to promote the values of dignified work, strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a city offering a supportive work environment, and reflect the UAE’s vision of empowering people as the nation’s true wealth.
